Flinders Island

A mountain range that rises straight out of the sea

Flinders Island holds barely 800 people across its whole footprint, granite headlands and white sand giving way to wetland lagoons. The Strzelecki Peaks anchor the island's south, granite mountains climbing directly from the water to form the highest point in the Furneaux Group. Dolphins work the surrounding waters most days, visible from the beaches without needing a boat. This is island time in its purest form, unhurried by anything at all.
