The last surf break before the reef takes over
Agnes Water holds Queensland's most northerly surf break, the point where the coast turns from waves to reef for the rest of the state. From Gladstone Harbour, charter boats head out for barramundi and coral trout in some of the best fishing water on this stretch of coast. Further out, Lady Musgrave Island offers a coral lagoon calm enough to snorkel straight off the sand. Closer to town, Curtis Island's beaches stay quiet enough that most of it feels entirely yours.
