This important town has two cathedrals and one of the finest railway stations in SA. Whyalla the 'capital' of Eyre Peninsula has amazing ironstone Art Deco buildings, panoramic views of the harbour and steel works from its lookout, and a novel circular jetty at the beach. A visit to its outstanding maritime museum is included in the fee. Stay overnight in a city motel with dinner, bed and breakfast included. In Port Augusta we visit the Arid Lands Botanic Gardens and trace the history of remnants of the former main employer of the city - the Commonwealth Railways.
