The Murrumbateman wine district lies in the heart of the Canberra Wine Region, being located just 45 minutes from the centre of Canberra and about 20 minutes south of Yass. This vibrant wine region is packed with fabulous vineyards, all a relatively short distance from one another, making travel from one to the next quick and easy. The large wine growing area to the north and east of Canberra, surrounding Lake George and encompassing the Wamboin district, is located just 30 – 45 minutes from the centre of Canberra. The area is blessed with an amazing climate which results in amazing wines! This vibrant wine region punches well above its weight when it comes to wonderful vineyards producing wines with distinctive fruit characters and intense flavours. While some vineyards are about 30 minutes drive from others, the travel is easy and picturesque.
