About Hedonistic Hiking's Highlights of the Goldfields Track

The Goldfields Track offers some of the most stunning hiking trails in Central Victoria. Hedonistic Hiking's tour here follows 92 kilometres of the trail’s true highlights, starting in the beautiful landscape of the Great Dividing Range north of Castlemaine, and exploring native bushland, deep gorges and fern-lined creeks. Experienced guides Jackie and Mick Parsons are with the group every step of the way, looking after all the creature comforts and sharing their knowledge of the region. As with all Hedonistic Hiking tours, there is as much emphasis on good food and wine as there is on walking. The tour heads in a southerly direction, winding through open farmland and ironbark and stringybark forests, to unearth many vestiges of the rich gold rush history for which the area is famous. Visit the mineral springs at Hepburn and follow a spectacular gorge to arrive at the lake in the charming town of Daylesford. Stay in a luxurious 19th century private house, with professionally-trained Mick assuming his role as chef on the first two evenings. Dinner on the final day is at the celebrated two Chef’s Hats Lake House restaurant, with its beautiful setting overlooking the water.
