Leon Bridges - WOMADelaide

The Texas Sun follows this artist around the globe, from Atlanta via Fort Worth, Texas, to WOMADelaide – Leon Bridges presents Happiness Anytime, an emphasis on movement inspired by the communal spirit of classic Jamaican dancehall culture.

A defining voice in modern American R&B, Leon Bridges is a Grammy-winning artist of sonic exploration. Armed with a vinyl DJ, horn section and backing vocalists, Bridges aims to ground us all in the rhythm of the present. From vintage R&B (Coming Home, 2015), to modern (Gold-Diggers Sound, 2021), to country (Leon, 2024), Bridges weaves a thread of magic into everything he does. Performing songs from his latest album, Happiness Anytime, Leon Bridges' new era is inspired by funk and Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. Happiness Anytime is produced by J Lloyd and Lydia Kitto of Jungle, continuing Bridges' collaborative tradition with a diverse range of artists including Khruangbin, The Avalanches, Olivia Dean, and Shaboozey. This is your official invitation to dance the night away!
