Mountain Creek Nature Trail
The Mountain Creek Nature Trail traverses through green forested slopes and moist gullies. A pretty, short walk that crosses two-foot bridges as it loops its way back to the road.
A simple and accessible track, wending its way around a gully to take full advantage of contour walking and is sympathetic to the local terrain. The native vegetation is prolific and attractive.
Look for the couple of signs indicating the beginning of the trail. Along the path are trail markers. Numbered markers and signs that designate it as an educational trail. However, there is not always a supply of material available to identify what each numbered marker indicates. If you find a brochure in the intentions box at the trail beginning, it is a thoughtful gesture to return it at the end of your walk for the next person. Alternatively, take a photo of the information.
Parking: A few locations on the Murray Valley Highway itself. Alternatively, on the opposite side of the highway corner with Avondale Road you will find the open parkland of Tom Mitchell Reserve. More parking is available here with public toilets, picnic tables and a fireplace.
2-3km loop depending on the starting location.
