Long Paddock Touring Route

Cobb Highway, Moama, New South Wales, Australia, 2731 Arrow
Welcome to the Long Paddock, an iconic touring route that meanders through the heart of Australia, inviting travellers to embark on a journey through landscapes that resonate with history, culture, and the spirit of the outback. Stretching from Echuca Moama on the Victorian Border, through to Wilcannia. The Long Paddock, also known as the "Cobb Highway" weaves a tapestry of discovery, historic sites, and natural wonders. The modern Cobb Highway follows part of the great network of stock routes, that once served as a lifeline for drovers moving cattle across NSW and Southern Queensland. Whilst travelling along this iconic route, explore the 11 major public sculptures, celebrating the unique character of the landscape and local history. Start your journey in Moama, 'The River Barge' sculpture by artist Geoff Hocking is located near the Moama Skate Park on Blair Street. Next head north up the Cobb Highway to the township of Mathoura. An enchanted wonderland for lovers of the Australian bush. As you drive along the Cobb Highway you will see many stories of the Long Paddock have been captured on interpretative panels. Outside the Mathura Visitor Information Centre there are two sculptures. These include The Drover and Horse by artist Corey Thomas and The Woodcutters by artist Geoff Hocking. Next jump back into your car and head to Deniliquin and continue your Long Paddock journey.
