Description

Comprising 45 hectares of incredible gardens, parkland and native bushland at Mount Wilson in the Blue Mountains, Breenhold Gardens was created by the Thomas Breen (Snr) and his wife Charlotte in 1965. Only open during autumn and spring seasons, the gardens feature thousands of exotic and native trees and flowering shrubs, including maples, beech, pines, cedars, eucalypts, azaeleas, cherry blossom trees and magnolias. There are extensive lawns for picnics and for kids to play on, as well as bush trails, forest walks and lookouts with panoramic views of Blue Mountains National Park. Parrots, cockatoos, lyrebirds, whip birds, and honeyeaters are just some of the many birds that enjoy the variety of food and habitats in this manicured oasis. Breenhold Gardens has been the setting of many film and television shows, including Baz Lurhmann’s The Great Gatsby and TV series Lambs of God.
