The story of Transit Bar is littered with memorable gigs, parties, pool and hangovers. Downstairs at Akuna St was a favoured haunt for many looking for refuge from the mundane daily grind. Like a station on London’s underground, Transit was a place that could take you somewhere else, even if only briefly. It’s a story of people, those that came hoping for a good time and those that made it possible. A favoured haunt for local and touring bands, Transit delivered. Like the people who came, Transit too has moved on. But we are still here, at the intersection of music and life.
