Glow Tour

Tasmania is rapidly becoming known as a hotspot for natural phenomena that glow in the dark. This uniquely Tasmanian experience showcases the wonder of things that glow in the dark in nature. The Glow Tour is responsive to whatever is glowing best on the night: often this may include biofluorescent animals and plants such as pink-glowing possums or bandicoots, faintly green-glowing pademelons or wallabies, brilliant green-glowing snails, blue-glowing rakali (native water rats) or insects, red-glowing owls, and a dazzling array of glowing flowers, plants, fungi, and lichens. And sometimes the Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) or sea sparkles (marine bioluminescence) may be visible as well!
