WAS Gallery

Nestled on a large, leafy block between residential and light industry is a new gallery in Warragul. WAS Gallery, abbreviated from Warragul Art Studios, was set up by the Lorraine family and opened in 2020. Over the Covid years WAS endeavoured to put on exhibitions and welcome visitors whenever possible. Now it has a full program with shows changing regularly, most running for two months . A family of artists, the Lorraines took the solid, art deco homestead and turned it into a splendid space to showcase artwork. It also houses a ceramic and design studio for the resident artists who produce work available in the gallery. The established garden on a double block with fruit and mature trees makes for a very pleasant venue to visit and a wonderful backdrop for the gallery. WAS is also ideally situated opposite Linear Park with extensive walks and playground. The website has the full gallery story, artists’ histories and examples of artwork. Entry is free.
