Description

Distance: 9.5 kilometres Difficulty: Easy This is not a well-known National Park and at first glance, it might not seem very attractive however it is a good area to stride out, admire the many mature grass trees and rest at a nice spot on the banks of the Maria River. From the corner of Railway Dam Rd and Nolans Rd, walk easily under the railway and turn right on the other side. Keep right and, going south, follow the path along the rail line for 2.5 kilometres. At the Kundabung Rd rail crossing turn left, walk about 100 metres. At a fork in the road turn left into Harris Rd. Walk 1 kilometre. Turn left into Elford Rd. Ignore Blackwells Rd and another unnamed road on the right. At about 1.3 kilometres, turn right and walk 250 metres to Maria River where you find a lovely spot by the water for a rest. With some lunch, there might be turtles for company. Credit: Macleay Walking Trails by Christa Schwoebel and John Cruickshanks.
