Mermaid Pools

If you're keen for a swim, try nearby Trial Bay and Front Beach instead. Mermaid Pools has never been a designated visitor site due to the extreme nature of the surf and tide at this location. The area leading to the pools is permanently closed. There is no public access and no approved walking track to Mermaid Pools. There's no lifeguard service in this area and access for emergency services is extremely difficult. Only swim at beaches with access tracks and visitor facilities. Use caution if you're rock fishing from nearby rock platforms. Never turn your back on the ocean and be sure to follow fishing safety advice.
