Description

Tarntipi Bush Camp is a unique experience for people seeking an authentic cultural experience in a remote location of north Australia. For over ten years, Tarntipi has developed an inter-cultural space where locals and visitors to the Tiwi Islands are able to experience Tiwi way: on country, with family. The place and the people set the background for this product and offer the visitor an unforgettable journey which is a highly engaging and educative experience. This experience has been designed in close and ongoing consultation with Tiwi eldership. Itineraries range in length from half-day sightseeing tours to 3-day tours. Tarntipi Bush Camp is about fostering authentic and genuine inter-cultural relationships. It is also about building Aboriginal self-determination and promoting Tiwi culture and cultural awareness through an authentic and participatory camping experience. Tiwi families enjoy sharing with visitors the experience of being on country Tiwi way.
