Mount Oxley

An hour spent with eagles in the silence atop Mount Oxley looking across a 100-kilometre expanse rekindles the experience of explorers Sturt and Hume in 1829. Mount Oxley, rising from the perfectly flat landscape, has without question the best views of the area. A must-see panorama stretches as far as the eye can see. Mount Oxley does require a day permit to visit, as it is located on private property, which can only be purchased from the Back O' Bourke Information and Exhibition Centre. It is encouraged to purchase the permit on the day that you would like to go up as the code that is provided changes regularly. The sunsets at Mount Oxley are stunning with vibrant pinks and purples painting the sky. Mount Oxley showcases the abundance of wildlife in the region including wedge-tail eagles and wallabies. This is a photographer, bushwalker and bird-watcher dream.
