Description

Lathami Conservation Park is closed for public safety following the recent bushfires. The majority of the park was burnt in the January 2020 bushfire. We’re working to reopen the park. Lathami Conservation Park is a critical habitat of glossy black-cockatoos. Kangaroo Island is home to the only South Australian population of this iconic, but endangered species. These cockatoos form lifelong mating pairs and only feed on the seeds of drooping sheoak trees. Sadly it’s estimated that 75% of the glossy black-cockatoo habitat was destroyed in the recent bushfires and they need your help. Show your support by donating to the Wildlife Recovery Fund which will work toward re-stablishing habitats for our precious wildlife: https://www.naturefoundation.org.au/support-us/wildlife-recovery-fund
