Description

The McCann Park Tree Sculpture is a prominent artwork in McCann Park, significantly enhancing the Bland Shire’s Art Trail. This trail also features the Big Football at Ungarie, the Weethalle Silo mural, the Russell Drysdale Monument, and the Reg Rattey VC statue in West Wyalong. Brandon Kroon, the current World Number 1 Chainsaw Carver from Melbourne, has crafted an impressive wooden sculpture from a Redgum tree stump in West Wyalong’s McCann Park. This sculpture, created using a chainsaw, beautifully depicts two local birds: the Wedge-Tailed Eagle and the Mallee Fowl. Completed in about a week, this sculpture is a must-see attraction in the picturesque surroundings of West Wyalong’s McCann Park, located at the junction of the Mid Western and Newell Highway. Mr. Kroon has been passionate about creating, fixing, and working with his hands for as long as he can remember. He began carving professionally in 2013 and has since developed an impressive portfolio of artworks.
