The Sweetest Journey, Sugar Trail

Mackay was barely two years old when the first sugar cane was grown in Queensland and it didn't take long to realise that the fertile river plains of the Pioneer Valley were potential sugar growing fields. Journey to the fantastic Field of Dreams which is located in front of Wilmar Plane Creek Mill to discover it's array of interesting and historical attractions. Explore the Sarina Sugar Shed to discover the journey of sugar from paddock to plate. The Sarina Sugar Shed offers tastings, tours and a real-life cane crushing display.
