Newland Head Conservation Park

Located on the southern coast of the Fleurieu Peninsula, Newland Head Conservation Park is a popular destination for surfing and fishing. The park protects two long beaches, Waitpinga and Parsons, as well as rocky headlands and surrounding coastal vegetation. Follow the walking trails along the rolling hills and rugged cliffs which provide panoramic views of the Waitpinga Creek, Encounter Bay, the Pages in Backstairs Passage and Kangaroo Island. After a day of beach fishing, set up camp at Waitpinga Campground and enjoy the distant sound of waves rolling onto the beach. Due to strong rips and hidden gutters, the park's beaches are not suitable for swimming
