Description

The Ravensthorpe Range lies to the north and east of the Fitzgerald River National Park in the far south of Western Australia. Take the opportunity to explore the outstanding natural beauty and biodiversity of this pristine bushland, which boasts more eucalypts than anywhere else in the world. The Fitzgerald River to Ravensthorpe Range area is classed as one of the world’s ’biodiversity hotspots’. Aspiring botanists and plant lovers will be captivated by more than 1,800 beautiful and rare species of flowering plants, as well as the multitude of lichens, mosses and fungi. The Ravensthorpe Range comprises 40 kilometres of low hills, adjacent to the town of Ravensthorpe. Visit the two lookouts to admire the spectacular views of the ocean, surrounding countryside, diverse landscape and small towns. Conventional vehicles can access the range via two of the access roads, though a four-wheel drive is required to access the Range Top Drive. Ravensthorpe is a 7 hour drive southeast of Perth and is well worth visiting for its rich geology as well as the myriad of native flora and fauna species unique to the region.
