Description

The beautiful Rotunda in Cue was constructed as a commemoration of the pioneers of the Murchison region. Stand in the rotunda and imagine the band playing for the early settlers after a hard day mining for gold. Clearly visible from the main street, it is located next to another charming building, the Bank of New South Wales. The extravagant buildings in the mining town of Cue epitomise the wealth of the town in the early 1900s during the gold rush. Walk through the town and admire many heritage-listed buildings that have been proudly restored by the people of Cue. Look out for the largest corrugated iron building in the southern hemisphere, Masonic Lodge and the charming limestone Government Building, housing the post office and police station. The remote town of Cue is just over a seven-hour drive north of Perth and just over an hour's drive south of Meekatharra.
