Avon Park

Avon Park was extensively re-developed in June 2020. Located on Lowe Street, Avon Park is a large grassed area that runs alongside the Avon River. It is one of the most popular parks in York. There are free electric barbecue facilities with picnic tables and seating, toilets a Nature Play playground area and a Skate Park. On the north side of the park, there is the Swinging Bridge which crosses the river and is a popular viewing spot for many tourists. The rotunda located by the Swinging Bridge is the trailhead for the Avon River Walk Trail. Please note the river is not suitable for bathing.
