WW1 Memorial Drive Journey – Bundaberg to Yeppoon

The journey from Bundaberg to Yeppoon, north east of Rockhampton, includes a number of different aspects of Queenslanders' war service. Including commemorating war nurses at one of the Bundaberg Memorials; a visit to the museum of an early aviation hero and World War One veteran Bert Hinkler; a memorial which doubled as a union rallying point in the mining town of Mount Morgan; and an avenue of trees representing those lost in World War One on the beachside at Yeppoon. Bundaberg, Gladstone and Rockhampton are all access points to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, located just off shore and worth experiencing for yourself while you're in the region.
