Description

The first stop on the Batemans Bay Snorkelling Trail is 12 kilometres north of Batemans Bay at Maloneys Beach. As well as being a fantastic spot for snorkelling, Maloneys Beach is ideal for family outings with a grassy reserve, toilets, a boat ramp, electric barbecues and a covered picnic area. The next destination is Sunshine Cove Beach, five kilometres south of Batemans Bay. The colourful pebbly beach provides spectacular snorkelling straight off the shore. From rocky reefs to seaweed beds, there is plenty to see. While snorkelling, you are also likely to encounter endemic fish such as red morwong, luderick and bream as well as lobsters, gropers and abalone. Lastly, head eight kilometres south to the ancient Guerilla Bay. Snorkel through the beautiful blue waters and explore some of the oldest geological rock formations on Eurobodalla's coastline. To finish the day enjoy a picnic or even take a walk through beautiful native banksia forest to Burrewurra Point to see the WWII bunker and take in spectacular views from the viewing platform along the track.
