A roadhouse with some of the best scenery in the whole Territory right outside the door

Victoria River Crossing is little more than a roadhouse and a campground, and that's exactly the point, since the real attraction is the highway itself, winding past immense escarpments split by the river below. Gregory National Park protects the wider landscape, boab trees and grassy plains giving way to sandstone gorges carved over millions of years. Cast a line in the river for some genuinely excellent fishing, or simply watch the abundant birdlife that gathers along its banks. This stretch of road rewards anyone willing to stop rather than just drive through.
