Southern Mallee District Council

Southern Mallee sits right where cropping paddocks give way to the Big Desert, one of the last truly wild stretches of mallee scrub left in the state. Pinnaroo anchors the district with a heritage main street built during the district's early farming boom, wide enough to turn a full wagon team around. Lameroo keeps its own quieter character further along, small-town streets surrounded by dryland wheat and sheep country. This is a district built entirely around the rhythm of the seasons.
