Hobart and South

This region runs from Georgian streetscapes right through to wild southern coastline, Salamanca's Saturday market turning one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere loose across Hobart's oldest heritage precinct. Battery Point's cottages stand just up the hill, some of the best-preserved colonial streetscapes anywhere in the country. Further south, the Tasman Peninsula's Tessellated Pavement cracks into a near-perfect natural grid, a strange landscape near one of Australia's most significant convict sites. City and coastline, old stone and older rock, all within the same short drive.
