District Council of Loxton Waikerie

Loxton Waikerie runs along one of the Riverland's widest stretches of citrus and vine country, orchards and vineyards following the Murray's bends for kilometres at a time. Waikerie has built a genuine reputation on its air alone, thermals rising reliably enough over the plains to make it one of the country's premier gliding destinations. Loxton keeps its own story closer to the ground at the Historical Village, a recreated pioneer settlement telling the district's early farming history. Both towns work the same river from very different directions.
