Clare Valley Portrait Prize Exhibition

The annual Clare Valley Portrait Prize celebrates the art of portraiture, inviting artists to submit painted portraits of people known to them. A guest judge is appointed each year to select the winning entries, with prizes awarded on opening night. The overall winner of the Clare Valley Portrait Prize will receive prize money and the opportunity to present a solo SALA exhibition at the Clare Valley Wine, Food and Tourism Centre. There is also an animal section, and visitors are invited to come into the Centre and vote for the People's Choice Award for all paintings, with the winner to be announced. This year, an additional Acquisitive Award has been generously sponsored by Clare Carpet Court. To be eligible, the portrait subject must be a volunteer from a regional community. The Clare Valley Portrait Prize is proudly supported by Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council, Blackman Gallery, Clare Carpet Court, Caroline Schaefer, Lions Club of Clare, and the Clare Valley Wine, Food and Tourism Centre.
