Discover photographs of Paddy's Markets, one of Sydney's oldest markets, on display at the State Library of NSW. Paddy's Markets Haymarket has long been an icon of Sydney's Chinatown. State Library photographers Bruce York and Joy Mei En Lai captured Paddy's and its stallholders in August 2024, during the recent redevelopment. Alongside historic images from the Library's collection, these contemporary photos are a reminder that Paddy's has a way of enduring. Displayed across the Circulation Gallery on Level 1 of the Mitchell Building, see how one of Sydney's oldest markets has been documented in the Library's photographic collections over more than 85 years.
