Description

The sonorous sounds of the viola anchor both works in this program featuring Melbourne Symphony Orchestra musician Fiona Sargeant. Hindemith's concerto, based on German folk song, portrays a travelling medieval musician. Brahms' Second Serenade, having no violins in the orchestration, brings out the rich sounds of the lower voices of the orchestra in an intimate setting.
