Description

With a career spanning six decades and more than 50 films, Hitchcock is among the most influential directors of all time. Consistently exploring technical possibilities, Hitchcock's grand themes of voyeurism and mistaken identity are threaded through his work, as are his iconic collaborators, including Grace Kelly, James Stewart and Tippi Hedren. NFSA's Winter program highlights four of Hitchcock's classics: Rope, a real-time suspense masterpiece; North by Northwest, an ambitious, action-packed thriller; Vertigo, a haunting exploration of obsession; and The Birds, his surreal psychological thriller.
