The Sandpit

The Sandpit is a celebration of music, dance, and breathtaking sunsets, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere by the sea. Every Sunday throughout summer, the Scarborough Beach Amphitheatre comes alive with partner dancing, offering an opportunity for people of all skill levels to join in the fun. The evening begins with a free one-hour introductory dance lesson, making it easy for newcomers to step onto the dance floor with confidence. As the night unfolds, dancers move to the infectious rhythms of Latino, Afro, and Brazilian music, immersing themselves in the lively beats and dynamic energy. Adding to the excitement, occasional dance performances showcase talented dancers, bringing an extra element of entertainment and inspiration. To complete the experience, Latino and Brazilian food trucks are on-site, serving up delicious, authentic cuisine, allowing guests to savour the flavours of the culture while enjoying the music and movement. With the ocean as a backdrop and the golden hues of the sunset painting the sky, The Sandpit offers a unique and unforgettable way to dance, connect, and celebrate summer by the beach.
