ILA Playground featuring Sea of Light and Neon Canvas

Paint a voyage in light! Embark on a journey of light and imagination in the illuminating interactive installation for children and families at ILA Playground. These summer holidays, step into The Light Room and enter a world of wonder! Sea of Light by Patch Theatre brings together magical light and a gentle soundscape to create a unique adventure for the whole family. With a UV torch as your paintbrush, paint and stencil your own voyage and steer ships that leave glowing paths of light in their wake. During the installation you will hear music by multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Rob Edwards. The music uses sound to connect to the relationship First Nations people have as Custodians of this land and the flow between the water, earth and sky. Next, make your way through to The Light Room Studio, where 150sqm of LED screens transform into Neon Canvas, a world-first experience created by ILA and the University of Adelaide’s Realities Extended team. Through cutting-edge interactive technology, watch your art come alive—from the digital spray paint in your hands to the vibrant visuals surrounding you. ILA Playground sparks a world of interactive adventure and discovery for children of all ages, immersing them in artistic experiences designed to inspire and nurture the next generation through cutting-edge technologies.
